Texting to me has
made people less formal. In a sense I feel that texting makes people rather
think I can just send them a message real quick rather than calling a person
and talking to them. It seems that it has made people less personal when it comes
to talking. Now don’t get me wrong I adore the fact that you can quickly talk
to people to ask simple little questions such as the time for a meeting or
something, but I do think that people are less personal in front of others.
Many feel much more comfortable talking to people without being face to face,
as if they are scared of conversing in person. Which I guess is understandable
at a younger age, but eventually you will have to talk to many people face to
face and texting will not help you prepare for that. Texting is almost a
completely different way of talking, and not the obvious way, I mean the fact
that people are accustomed to just sending little messages back and forth for a
conversation. Maybe it’s just me but I feel that texting can desensitize people’s
ability to relate and communicate with
others off a phone.
i agree texting has made everything and most conversations less formal.
ReplyDeletei agree with you and feel like we are loosing human interaction more and more.
ReplyDeleteI agree. My mom could be in another room and she'll text me to get her something. It makes our conversations less interesting sometimes.
ReplyDeleteI read the first sentence and was like, crap I totally am informal because of texting. I often find myself forgetting how to spell some words because i type slang.
ReplyDeletetotally agree with every word you said!
ReplyDeleteI've had my current cell phone for a week now and theres over 200 texts and only 2 calls. Yeah, texting is taking over talking.
ReplyDeleteCouldn't have said it better myself.
